The Cure e um álbum de cabeceira, Standing on a beach

Standing on a Beach é um álbum de singles lançado pelo The Cure em 1986, mais precisamente, no dia 13 de maio (meu aniversário \m/). Foi relançado em CD ganhando mais algumas faixas com o nome de Staring at the Sea.
O álbum é uma completa porta de entrada para quem quer conhecer o "universoTheCure". Na minha opinião não é um álbum definitivo melhor, mas por ser uma coletânea de singles, é um apanhado de vários álbuns e de várias fases desta banda inglesa que eu não canso de admirar e para quem quer conhecer mais, vale muito escutá-lo.

Destaque para a clássica e importante música do rock alternativo moderno do álbum de 1980 - Seventeen Seconds "A Forest" e toda sua sombriedade fantástica. A música é daquelas que você ouve e ouve e não cansa nunca.
     A coletânea Traz ainda a eterna Boys don't Cry, música que eu leio o nome cantando em pensamento ao ritmo da voz de Bob Simth. A música "Killing An Arab" de 1978 que traz a musicalidade do inicio do The Cure, "The Caterpillar" 1984 e "The Walk" de 2007.
    O álbum na minha opinião é uma daqueles que se tiver de ter um único a mão, que seja ele, pelo conteúdo ser uma volta pelos álbuns do The Cure em várias épocas. No momento, está no som do carro e toca sempre que minha chave de ignição gira rs.
